The Southern Konnevesi National Park is a 15,44 km2 protected area on the border between the municipalities Konnevesi and Rautalampi, the one being situated in Central Finland and the other in Northern Savo province.

Southern Konnevesi National Park was established for the conservation and management of the coastal and insular nature of the Konnevesi lake, including the inhabiting organisms, the bedrock and the water landscapes. The national park also has a general recreation and camping use and an environmental research aspect.

The state enterprise Metsähallitus is managing the national park, which was officially opened at the autumn of 2014.

At the national park You can go by boat through the open lake areas or canoe through the labyrinth of islands enjoying the view interspersed with flat rocks and vertical cliffs. You can look deep into the crystal-clear water and see the kingdom of wild trout. In the park of thrilling contrasts you can hike through the forests up to the high rocky slopes and admire the home landscape of ospreys.
